Philo
Overview
Philo is a dynamic collaboration tool designed for planners who work across teams, timelines, and ideas. The product helps planners move from scattered inputs to shared clarity by combining planning, communication, and real-time collaboration into one focused workspace.
Role: Product / UI-UX Designer
Platform: Web
Timeline: Concept → MVP
Tools: Figma, FigJam, User Flows, Design System
The Problem
Planners often work with multiple stakeholders—clients, teammates, vendors—each contributing ideas, feedback, and updates at different times. Existing tools tend to either:
Focus on task management but ignore collaboration
Enable communication without structured planning
Fragment work across chats, documents, and boards
This results in misalignment, duplicated work, and constant context-switching.
The Goal
Design a single workspace where planners can:
Plan collaboratively in real time
Maintain structure without sacrificing flexibility
Clearly see ownership, progress, and decisions
Reduce reliance on multiple disconnected tools
Target Users
Project planners
Event planners
Product and operations planners
Cross-functional teams working on timelines and deliverables
Key Design Principles
Clarity over complexity – Every screen should answer “what’s happening now?”
Collaboration first – Designed around shared work, not solo planning
Flexible structure – Supports different planning styles without enforcing rigid workflows
Low cognitive load – Clean layouts, clear hierarchy, minimal friction
Core Features
Collaborative Planning Boards
Shared boards where planners can create, organize, and prioritize plans together in real time.
Live Updates & Presence
Users can see who’s active, what’s being edited, and when changes happen—reducing confusion and overlap.
Structured Conversations
Comments and discussions are tied directly to planning items, keeping feedback contextual and actionable.
Ownership & Progress Tracking
Clear indicators show who is responsible for what and how far each plan has progressed.
Timeline View
A visual timeline helps teams understand dependencies, deadlines, and sequencing at a glance.
